Adults Friendly — A place with its own rythm
Boutique Alpine Glamping in Sand in Taufers, South Tyrol
Every campsite has its audience — and that’s a good thing
SÅNDGØLD is small. Deliberately small. We have no pool slide, no playground between the pitches, no afternoon entertainment programme. What we do have are 50 boutique pitches, eight chalets on stilts above a quiet pond, a sauna landscape that smells of Swiss stone pine, and nights where you can hear the stream again.
Our guests come to slow down. During the day and at night. They seek what inevitably gets lost in large holiday resorts: peace, space and an atmosphere that speaks to adults — not because we have anything against children, but because we want to do well what we do well.
That’s why we are Adults Friendly. Not Adults Only. We recommend SÅNDGØLD to everyone who appreciates the rhythm of a quiet, adult getaway: before the family chapter begins, when the kids have left home, or simply in between, just the two of you.
What Adults Friendly means for us
SÅNDGØLD is Adults Friendly, not Adults Only. We don’t exclude anyone — but we are honest about who our place is made for. We argue from our strengths, not against anyone. We are for adults, not against children.
Teenagers from 13 years old are warmly welcome — as are the grandparents travelling with them, even more so. Families with younger children are not excluded. We simply want to be upfront about what we don’t have and what other sites in the region do better.

Why we don’t offer children’s infrastructure
We are small, and we have made a conscious decision not to do everything a little, but to do a few things properly. Our focus is on a quiet, adult atmosphere — chalets on stilts above the pond, a natural swimming pond, the Cascade Sauna. This is an offering that young children neither need nor can particularly enjoy.
South Tyrol has wonderful campsites made specifically for families with young children — with playgrounds, children’s entertainment and suitable pool facilities. There, families will have an all-round better holiday experience than with us.
An honest note for families with younger children
Anyone travelling with children under 13 is still welcome to book. We simply want to be transparent upfront: our site offers no play infrastructure, no entertainment programme and no family area. This is not an oversight — it is part of our concept. Those who consciously choose a quiet, adult-oriented place will feel right at home with us — those looking for a classic family holiday will find greater happiness elsewhere.
Frequently asked questions about Adults Friendly camping
Is SÅNDGØLD an Adults Only site?
No. We are Adults Friendly. This means our site is designed in size, layout and atmosphere with adults in mind, but it is not off-limits to everyone else. We recommend SÅNDGØLD above all to couples, solo travellers and guests with teenagers aged 13 and above.
From what age are children welcome?
Guests aged 13 and above tend to feel most at home with us. Teenagers who appreciate peace, nature and our sauna landscape are a perfect fit for SÅNDGØLD — whether travelling with their parents or their grandparents.
Can we still book with younger children?
Yes, that is possible. We simply want to be honest upfront: we have no playground, no children’s entertainment and no pool facilities for young guests. For families with younger children, there are campsites in South Tyrol specifically designed for exactly that — and there you will have an all-round better holiday experience.
Why do you not recommend SÅNDGØLD for younger children?
Because we are small and have made a conscious decision not to do everything a little, but to do a few things properly. Our focus is on a quiet, adult atmosphere. This is an offering that young children neither need nor can particularly enjoy.
Are there exceptions for babies or particularly quiet children?
We do not make individual age exceptions, as we want to keep our promise to all guests equally. Our recommendation from age 13 applies to babies and primary school children alike.
Is it Valid All Year Round?
Yes, our positioning is unaffected by the season; the essence of the place remains consistent throughout.
